When I launch the Windows XP volume control application (sndvol32.exe) is
displays on the Task Bar as being loaded but the volume controls are not
being displayed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Try [Alt]+[Tab] to the 'Master Volume' icon, or
right-click the 'Master Volume' button on the Task Bar > Restore
to UN-minimize the 'Master Volume' panel.

Thanks but I've already tried that...doesn't work.

Control panel, Sounds and Audio..., mark the box before volume icon, OK and
reboot. If it is already marked, unmark it, OK, reboot and then go back and
select it again and reboot.
