Voice recognition

I am based in UK and have tried unsuccessfully to activate Voice recognition.
I have success using it in OE, but cannot get it to work with Word 2003.
There seems to be a conflict between English US and English UK and it appears
to be impossible to resolve. Has anyone else had a similar experience? (I
have XP)

This feature is available in the Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese,
English (U.S.), and Japanese language versions of Microsoft Office.

You have to have US English set up in the Windows regional settings for
speech recognition to work. - or you could keep UK English and install a
third party voice recognition software package.
