voice quality

I just reinstalled windows 2000, updated drivers, latest
servicepak etc. Anything that has people speaking, the
voices sound like munchkins. Has anyone come across this
and is there anything to adjust?

Did you update drivers from Windows Update? If so - that's a no-no - always
get drivers from the mfr's website. Might want to go to the sound card mfr's
website & get the latest W2k driver from there & reinstall it in device
manager....
