There is useful info on ripping DVD here: http://www.videoredo.com/FAQs/ExtractStreamsFromDVD.htm The application used, dvddecrypter, plus more info, can be found at http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/ A .vob file is just another flavour of mpeg2 video and VideoLan can play one without problem www.videolan.org
