VLC Player Buffering

I use VLC Player to play video over my home network. However, 1080p does not buffer quick enough over Wireless G. Is there a way of making the buffer larger?

1080p is a huge amount of bandwidth to shift over a WLAN, you possiblyy could do it over wireless N or better still use an ethernet cable.

I'm currently in the middle of moving house. New place will have patched in network ports. However, i'm just after a temp solution using wireless for the next few months for my MacMini.

There is a way in VLC to change the buffer options, i just can't find it lol.
