VisualC++.net 2002

Hi
I'm trying to install the above program onto Windows XP pro SP1, on a
Fujitsu Siemens AmiloD 7820. I've just reinstalled windows and VisualC++.net
was installed fine before. However on trying to install it now after doing
the componant update, The main install gets to about half way then slows to a
crawl. Like 1 file every 5 mins. I've tried it now 4 times with the same
result. Any ideas please would be very welcome, and am I in the correct news
group.

Visual Studio.Net is the slowest install I've seen in a dozen years.

Turn off your antivirus realtime protection while installing this.
Be sure you have sufficient disk space. Full install of VS and MSDN eats up
over 2GB.

Could your install disk be damaged/dirty?
