After doing a "proper" XP upgrade install to Vista Home Premium, all programs
seem to work fine with exception of one.. I use eDimensional Voice Buddy 3.0
to complement FlightSimulatorX - I have done many re-installs to no
avail.......it uses the SDK5.1 Speech Engine -
OK - my question finally - I have gone to the program and set permissions to
for everyone, even sub-folders . The program will start but not work
correctly. The vendor's "vistapatch.exe", when applied, states No
application defined"....... this program worked flawlessly in XP - The
vendor, which seems very reputable, has told me that I am the first user that
has called with issues under Vista........???
In any event, threads have stated you can turn off (temporarily) certain
functions in Vista and most programs that were fine in XP will work under
Vista. NOTE: I have tried XP compatability mode to no
avail...........................
What do I do next..................
Your help is always appreciated.

I have found that for many things I can only get it to work with UAC
turned off. I would try that.

Thanks for the reply -
I know MS is absolutly against turning off UAC, and they should, however,
using Vista for two weeks now, I haven't found a way to temporarily disable
it. How do you go about doing it? - I could work with XP with the best of
them, Vista is a different animal. Your continued help would be appreciated.
Thanks again, Tom
