Vista Windows Mail will not spell check anymore

Was in the middle of spell checking a lengthly doc in widows mail that took
an hour to compose. In the middle of the spell checking the mail client froze
on the word 'their'
A security notice halted the mail client (cant remember what it was but it
was 2 letter acronym) I clicked ok and windows mail shut itself down
(crashed)

When I restarted the main client spell check will not work anymore.
Tried rebooting server to no avail.

This problem could be caused by your antivirus program.
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee and Norton
security programs. Those will need to be uninstalled, NOT just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like:

AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
or
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom
install, and then deselect the email scanning option.

The options on this site are not acceptable. In windows mail, my spelling
does not work. A message appears indicating "language not ... something"
Very dissapointed in Vista - apple is my next choice for a computer.

bye.

What options are you referring to Scott?

To get your spelling to work you just need to go to tools
menu>options>spelling tab, change the language to a different one, then
click apply, now change it back to English>apply>OK.
You should now have your spell check working.
