Hi
I upgraded my "vista capable" HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop yesterday, with
mixed results - its loaded and all looks snazzie but cannot load ie7. Whilst
can access internet for other functions, any access attempt using ie7 fails -
ie7 won't upload at all - get the following message:

Ok so I am guilty for not 'painstakingly' working through every
compatibility issue prior to installation, I did ensure that all 'updates'
for my system were done prior to installation, except for those the task list
said could do post install!.

When I attempt to use HP Quickplay it crashes the system (oh the dreaded
'blue-screen of death' from Windows ME days returns!) I'm sure a solution is
nowhere near as melodramatic as that!.

Anyway, when this ie7 problem occurs where is the issue? One discussion
board mentioned they sorted it by uninstalling the synaptic touchpad!, did
that and still didn't work, reinstalled the updated driver and still no luck!

Any assistance greatly appreciated! I'm erring toward re-intalling Windows
XP, but hope there is a more progressive solution than that!.

My system is Intel Core 2 CPU T7200, 2GB RAM 2.00 GHz 200GB 32-bit operating
system.
Day 2, uploaded some other updates today and now for some reason the bugger
(IE7) is working!!! Go figure!

Not all in vain.

Good luck to others updating - the moral of the story is do you softward,
hardware, device driver updates PRIOR to upgrading!

Cheers

At the risk of sounding like one of these MAC freaks,...consider
