Vista ultimate backup never completes

I recently purchased Vista and installed it on a second hard drive (80gb) to
try it. I now am happy with the way Vista works and want to put it back onto
my XP drive (120gb). I have deleted XP and now trying to backup Vista so I
can restore it on the XP drive.

My problem is that when I backup Vista to the XP disk it gets 60% or so way
through the backup and then the screen goes blue, and eventually reboots.
Tried four times now, have even turned of system resotre which I saw on
another site as a solouton, but no joy - anyone help ?

Hi pj,

You can't. You need to reinstall Windows Vista Ultimate due to the
Security features of Vista.

While it appears that there is no Vista Boot Manager installed, there
is. However, the display is set to one second and you never see it. It was
installed on the XP partition.
