vista ultimate and office 2007

Hi all,

I have a Dell (vista capable) laptop Precision M65. It has 2GB RAM, Intel
dual core CPU etc. I recently upgraded to Vista ultimate and Office 2007. I
formatted my drive and re-installed the OS and then installed office 2007. I
have noticed that opening office documents takes forever. This is especially
true when opening documents from emails in Outlook. I dont know what is
causing this. SInce this laptop is part of my core corporate domain we have
My documents re-direction turned on. However, it is slow regardless when I
am in the corporate network or offline.

Any ideas?

I have the same apps e.g Windows Vista Ultimate and MS Office Professional
2007, but a different machine Pentium 4 2.66ghz 2Gb ram and have no problems
in particular.

All my apps open almost instantly, the only slowing I have experienced is
with receiving emails into Outlook 2007. I originally used Norton Internet
Security 2007 which we couldn't even get to install properly in Vista, so we
now are trying Mcafee Internet Security Suite 2007, which appears to scan
most emails before forwarding to their respective inbox, junk etc, however
Mcafee kindly gave me a solution and all seems OK now.

Any Internet Security or AV package that is working correctly will slow a
machine and the degree to which this happens will depend on the spec of the
machine, even with corporate software the same normally applies.

I hope this helps.

Best regards
Stuart
