I recently had to reinstall Vista 32 bit on my PC & my screensavers do not
work,
I am using default drivers for wireless combo & screensavers worked before
reinstalling. My power settings do work however; is there a fix to this or
do I need to wipe PC & reinstall OS?

You need to get this optional update from Windows Update..

Microsoft - Other Hardware - HID Non-User Input Data Filter

Where can I get this update? There is no option on my Windows Update for
Other Hardware? Windows update in Vista looks like part of Vista where in XP
it was obvious I was in a web app with reasonable menu selections and info
available. (I really hate Vista, it has caused me nothing but problems.)

Figured it out. For some reason, it had been hidden (I didn't do it).
Installed it and it solved the problem.

In case any readers have this similar problem, here is a description and
answer: Similar problem was that it wouldn't sleep when plugged in. Changed
the Multimedia Power setting to allow sleep when media was shared.

Sounds great but I have not had a screen saver for years and MS has no fix
that I can find. I have a Dell Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and the last
Vista service pack ended my screen saver mode for good. I have installed
every MS update that has come by. Is there a link to this HID Non-User
Input data Filter? There are many thousands of us with this problem and MS
hasn't done much to help. I have searched message boards many times
looking for that fix and other than having a lot of company, I have not seen
a fix that has worked.
