Vista regularly shuts down

A customer has this happen to him on a new Dell Inspiron 531 desktop with
Vista Home (Premium?) (UK sale). The message is:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer....

Brief display of diagnostics, then machine re-starts.

Apologies for lack of detail here, but I've just received the call and
haven't been able to examine the issue in detail. I just wondered if this was
a well-known occurrence with a simple fix ...

Regular STOP error, as narrow to fix as it was on Windows XP. Probably
caused by a driver running amuck on the system. Regular cause of action
would be to identify the driver and update it.

Submitting the error report to Microsoft might also show a solution.
