Vista Question.....pls help

Vista - Tablet PC question

I heard that Microsoft is going to be releasing a new OS ...Vista.

I would like to buy a tablet PC.

Should I wait for Vista to be released ?

Would Vista make a big difference to what is available today for Tablet
PCs ?

I am really interested in the handwriting recognition and pen based
feature of Tablet PCs.
Only need it for emails.

So I take it that you aren't going to buy the tablet PC until sometime
on or after January 2007 (assuming there isn't yet another delay of many
more weeks or months at that time)? Vista has been furthered delay, or
didn't you know (by checking the news)?

Waiting for Pista is pretty much pointless, it is yet again delayed. Not
because it's a case of getting things to work but rather taking things out
that don't look like or are not going to work.

Get your tablet PC, XP has handwriting recognition. It wouldn't be suprising
at all if Pista was released in 2008. Windows XP SP3 maybe the latest OS
from MS for a while yet, that is when SP 3 is released.

In addition unless tablet PC's comes with like a 3GHz chips, 2GB RAM and 256
MB RAM on the graphics card, your more than likely not to get the full
functionality (feature bloat) of Pista anyway.

Don't wait. I just got a Lenovo Thinkpad X41 at work and it came with
Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 and it runs and works well (or at
least as well as can be expected for Windows). I have an older tablet
at home that came with Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2003 and the
difference between the two versions is great! 2005 has come a long way.
