Vista Partitioning - Creating a new Volume

Right click on your C: Drive>Manage> work in disk management to create a new
partition

Windows has a limit of 4 partitions. It sounds like you have used up all of
them. You may have some work to do, to accomplish what you want.

What you should have done is create the 1st Active Partition (for windows).
The 2nd partition should have been created as an "Extended Partition", using
the remaining unallocated space on your hard-disk. On this "Extended
Partition" you can create logical drives/partitions. Windows will label
these D:, E:, F:, etc.

This way you can divide up your hard-drive beyond just 4 partitions.
