VISTA Disk Managment

I

Iftikhar Ahmad

Hi

I am using MS Windows VISTA Home Premium, I want to resize my Hard Drive,
its size is 100 GB, I shrink it to 30 GB the unallocated space left is about
70GB but when I right click on unallocated space o create the New Simple
Volume (after selecting the size etc) it generates an error #There is not
enough space available on disk to complete this operation#.

If some hint can be provided to solve the said problem.

Regards

Did you reboot the computer after the resizing operation before
trying to create a New/Simple Volume? If the PC is an OEM
brand you may have an issue with any Recovery Partition(s) on
the physical disk.

There is a limit of 4 simple partitions on a physical drive, perhaps that is
what you are running into.
