Vista Not Creating Shortcuts

I am trying to create a shortcut on the desktop from an Internet Explorer
Favorite.
When I right click on the Favorite, neither Create Shortcut nor Send to
Desktop will
create a shortcut. Nothing happens, not even an error message. Can anyone
help me with this problem?

Do you have the favorites menu on your start menu? If so try creating a
shortcut from there. Or drag your favorite to the desktop from IE favorite
list or the start menu favorite list. Best way is to right click drag and
choose create favorite here.

Actually using the menu from start/favorites ... right clicking "create
shortcut" only creates a copy of the shortcut in the same favorites folder.
So you end up with multiple shortcuts to the same sites. What a waste of
effort that is.
So use the drag and drop method. Always works.

Hi srm--

If you have a link to this "favorite" just put up the IE web page and use
the left mouse to drag it from the IE namebar to wherever. I never use the
"make a shortcut wizard" because I don't need to and dragging the shortcut
to the location is much faster. Send to, the wizard and any other way is
slower and invo

I find it much faster than using favorites to make a folder and put
shortcuts to other folders or pages in it. Favorites takes way too long for
me.
