tells me to check my security setting, which are obviously fine since the
other contacts can get the mail. i can send to this address useing webmail
with the same smtp server as is in my mail set up. the address in this email
is correct except for the first part. there is a period in the email between
first and last names. yes, i have tried it without.

Please right-click on the error message, copy, then paste it
into a reply here. Paraphrasing the error message tends to lose
critical diagnostic details.

Can't post a new thread? Any way. I can not send emails with windows mail.
Started about a week ago. Spent 5 hours on live help with my ISP, the phone
and even let them take over my computer for two hours. They gave up and told
me to contact Microsoft. I have read all these threads and we did all those
things. I do not agree with the advice of removing your anti-virus in this
day and age but we did so. My error message is as follows.
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject

I need to send emails and I am very dissapointed in Vista. I am seriosly
considering a MAC. Can I get help here? Is there a number I can call? By the
way I even get this message when I try to send a message to my self. Thanks.

I see you were able to post a new thread! Buy the Mac! They have a lot of
posts on their Discussions group (177 since 5:00 a.m. today) regarding their
OS X v10.4 Tiger
