Vista licensing in Virtual Machines

If I have a legal copy of Vista Business installed on my laptop, can I
install further copies on the same laptop in virtual machines (Vmware or
Virtual PC) using the same license key and if so will activating them
invalidate the original license activation?#

As far as licensing, a virtual machine is the same as a physical machine.
You'll need a new Windows Vista license for installation on a VM.

I thought I read that MS changed this policy recently.

Applies to Vista Enterprise only:

"Windows Vista Enterprise is a special case. With that version of Vista,
which will be made available only to volume license customers, users will
be able to install a single licensed copy of Vista on one physical PC and up
to four VMs, simultaneously. Those four VMs, however, must all be installed
on the same Vista Enterprise-based PC, and they must be used by the same user."
