vista incoming mail hangup

My incoming mail worked fine for awhile. Now when I try it , it says
receiving mail but it never gets it. You can check back hours later and it
still says receiving mail.

You might have an offending email hanging up at the server level. If you can
access you mail via a weblink do so and delete the offender.
