Vista HD keeps growing.

Hi,
I just did a complete PC backup and it said the total size was 49.x GB's. I questioned this cause I know I only have
about <18 GB's.
Anyway I did the backup and when I went to the folder the backup was in, it did say 16.0 GB's. I went to Computer and
the C:\drive it now says 51.x GB's and I didn't install anything. I did notice that in the previous versions of
properties for C:\ it had a lot of entries but they all said 0.
If this keeps up for a long time I will run out of space. Can someone please help me on this?
Is the figures in My Computer correct @ 51 GB?

Try Deleting All But The Most Recent System Restore Point Using Disk Cleanup
On The System Tools Menu From The Accessories Menu From The Start Menu, It
Really Does Free Up A Whole Lot Of Hard Disk Drive Space, Just FYI. Also
Try Using Crap Cleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/, Also Just FYI.

To permanently set the amount of space used by System Restore see John
Barnett's site -

I deleted all except the most recent SR files and it went from 51. GB to 27.4 GB.
I guess each RP uses a lot of space.

Vista creates restore points in some circumstances even when you have system
restore turned off.
One of those is when you make a complete PC backup.

Yes, That is the only one I got! still can't do automatic ones.
I also got one when I install Jave JRE 6u1. Never got one on any other installs.
