All outgoing mail goes to your Outbox before it goes on to the outgoing
email server. If it doesn't have an attachment, this often happens so fast
you don't notice. If you have mail that stays on the Outbox, try to move
it to the Drafts folder or delete it. If it refuses to do either, download
and
install this hotfix, with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether you have a 32-bit version
of Windows or a 64-bit version, try the hotfix for the 32-bit version
first. Certain common antivirus programs, such as most of those
from Norton or McAfee, tend to cause stuck messages and other
problems in Windows Mail, although seldom immediately, so if you
have such a program, remember where to find the hotfix, and hope
it will install again if you need it again.

If you want to connect to yahoo.com under Windows Mail, you
have to either pay extra or install YPOPs:

<http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-35.html>

<http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-08.html>

http://ypopsemail.com/

If you're using another country's Yahoo server instead, the requirements
are often different.

To send a picture under Windows Mail, make sure that all other programs
that access the picture are closed. Then start a new message in Windows
Mail, and in the new message Window, click on Insert, then File Attachment,
then find the picture file and click on it.

You didn't elaborate, but I guess that your preferred email method
is to go in your browser to http://mail.yahoo.com or some variation
of that. If so, use that method to open your Yahoo Mail, then start
a new email from there, and use its "Attach" button to attach the
pics you want to send. This method totally bypasses Windows Mail.
I get the impression you don't really want to use Windows Mail.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes Gary, I only use my Windows mail to email my daughter who has Windows XP.
I used to have Windows XP but when I purchased this laptop I did not expect
to have that much trouble with VISTA. I will try all the good info I received
today and hope to correct this very annoying problem. THANKS again !
