Vista doesn't like my logitec speakers.

Hi all. I have my Logitec speakers plugged in all three jacks in the back
but I can't find my RealTek driver disk. Vista can't drive the speakers
without the RealTek drivers? I get sound out of my headphones OK so the
sound card is operating. Any ideas?

I should have mentioned this is the Logitec model X-530. It has a woofer and
1 center speaker and 2 front and 2 rear speakers.

Hi,

Where do your headphones plug into?

If the sound card is working, you shouldn't need anything for the speakers.
If you're just plugging the headphones into the front of a CD/DVD drive,
then you aren't using the sound card - that's a direct feed from the drive
itself. Realtek should have drivers available for download that you can
install.

You might need to update the Realtek Drivers before your speakers can work.
Look in Control Panel (Classic) > Device Manger, under Sound, Video, and
Game controllers, for the name of your sound device. Double click on
the Sound entry, and, from the Driver tab, post back the name given, as well
as date and version number. (Does it say High Definition?)
