Speakers....ummm?

Yeah ok, so Wednesday night, speakers were working fine. Thursday morning
nothing. I am just running the speakers that came with the computer. Bought
the computer when Vista came out, so am running Vista Home Premium. But
here's the weird part - when I click on the icon and bring up the Realtek HD
Audio Manager and test the speakers - nothing; but, when I put it the speaker
configuration on quadraphonic, 5.1 or 7.1 and it goes through and tests the
speakers, I get sound on one particular speaker. But when I put it back on
stereo - nothing. I have tried plugging in to every jack on the back and am
quite flumaxed. Can you fix it??

I had a similar problem earlier this week when I tried to listen to the audio
form one of my favorite websites. I even downloaded a codex to test my
program, but I still had no sound. When I unpluged the audio jack, ther was
a buzz, therefore the speakers were ok. I then restarted my computer and the
sound came back like it was nothing.

I had the same problem with built in RealTek drivers. Finally bought a
dedicated sound card and solved my problem. Also got lots better sound.
