Vista compatibility with Macromedia 8

I read a great post linking me to the iexbeta site in regards to programs
compatible with vista. It says Macromedia 8.0.2 is fully compatible, yet I
beg to differ!! Since installing the update (Macromedia 8 was fine) I can't
connect to any of my sites, and it regularly crashes. I run Windows Vista
Business.

Does anybody know how to fix this or have I got to upgrade to CS3? I checked
the Adobe site but no one seemed to have the same problem as me. I could
install 8 again fresh but I like some of the fixes that 8.0.2 sorts out. Any
help would be much appreciated.

did you select to install the flash PLAYER that came with that installation?

It asks you as an option while you are installing it.... if you did...
Big mistake....

you need to use the latest player (adobe flash player 9.x)

uninstall that player if you can, and install the new one...

if needed, do a system restore!

I can't remember whether I did or not!! But not to worry I've decided to stop
being a tightwad and get the latest for Vista. Thanks for your posts!!
