Adobe Macromedia Flash Player Won't Install

I just installed Vista Home Premium on my HP laptop. I have encountered a
number of web sites that require a "Macromedia Flash Player". I have
repeatedly gone to the Adobe Flash Player Download Center to download and
install version 9,0,28,0 of their player. The rotating screen message
indicates I have successfully installed the player but I still encounter the
same message on sites indicating I need to install the player. (I have done
this several times now with the same results.) I have followed the trouble
suggestions on the Adobe site (although they don't look like they are
"Vista" specific) with same results. Any ideas? What gives?

Download the standalone version of Flash Player from here:
http://www.softwarepatch.com/network-security/flashdownload-security....

[install_flash_active_x.msi]

Then right-click on the file and select "Run as administrator".

if that doesn't work, know that this is currently not available in 64 bit
edition Internet explorer
