Vista Beta 2 install problem

I tried to install Vista Beta 2 using the DVD sent to me through MSDN
subscription. After about 1 hour, it quits with a message "An error occured
while laying down image". The activity where this message occurs is
"Expanding files :16%". What should I do ? Thanks

My thought too. That should be right about at the first reboot and would be
the first time Setup needed the driver. I get the first reboot at 20% of
expanding files. I have seen posts where it was 27%. I don't know what it
depends on.

Its a DELL with two MAXTOR 6L080L4 - ATA hard disk drives. Wondering if end
of 2007 is an ambitious time frame for Vista release ? Haven't run into such
basic problems before.

You mean end of 2006, right? It's not too ambitious. MS has some
committments with the corporate sector that is driving all of this.

Check Dell to make sure your BIOS is up to date. IDE drives would not
require a driver. You might also run a memory tester.

I meant 2006. I also tried the vista advisor which is supposed to report on
hardware compatability but it won't run either. I give up now. Will try after
a few months or next year.
