Can not install Vista update.

R

Ruud Uphoff

Hi,

Any attempt to install Windows Vista over Windows XP SP2 stops with the
following error message:

"The application or DLL D:\Sources\SPWIZENG.DLL is not a
valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette."

Where D: is the driveletter of the DVD.

This error was found several times on several places during Beta 2 and RC1
and could be solved by re-download the ISO file and/or reburned it. However,
this time the error occurs on an original bought DVD.

Any idea what me be the cause of this error?

Kind regards,

Hi,

Have you disabled or, better yet, uninstalled your antivirus software? This
is a major cause of upgrade failures.
