Vista Installation

I am trying to install Vista Beta 2 on a Windows XP system. I keep getting
the message "An error occurred while laying down Images" then it says "The
upgrade was cancelled". I am using a disc purchased from Microsoft. It came
in a 2 pack. One Disc says "Beta 2 x86 english" and the other says "Beta 2
x64 english". I used the x86 disc. Is this the correct one for my system? I
have a Dell 2400 with Windows XP,Celeron 2.4 ghz. processor,768 mhz Ram and
40 gb Hard Drive. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Yes, that should work fine. Are you installing to a second hard drive
(recommended, but not easy in a 2400) or did you create an empty partition
on the existing hard drive (OK) or are you trying to upgrade XP (bad idea).
