Vista and Power Point 2003

I have a new computer with Windows Vista and Power Point 2003 on it. When
I'm ready to polish an new presentation and review the slide transition
settings, the presentation freezes, generally on a specific slide (that is
repeated with each week's presentation.) When this happens, <ctrl><alt><del>
usually required to get the program unstuck.

To see if the slide is corrupted, I have rerun the presentation with the
offending slide deleted. In that instance, the program freezes when the
slide following the offending slide is shown. The same solution is required
to unfreeze the program.

I uninstalled, then reinstalled Office 2003 (including Power Point.)
Nothing changes.
The new installation freezed identically to the old one.

The only thing that saves me from disaster is that I also downloaded and
installed the Power Point Viewer - 2003. It will do what the regular program
is supposed to do without freezing. Of course, if an error is noted, I have
to exit the Viewer and get back into Power Point to make the correction. And
if there is something I have to review, I must once again, get back into the
Viewer to do it.

In my opinion, there is an incompatibility between Vista and Power Point
2003 that I have had to endure since March. That is amazing since both
programs originate from Microsoft.

THANK YOU.

Couple of questions: Have you tried this file on a different Vista PC or a
Windows XP PC? If you have and it runs fine, then the problem is somewhere
on your PC. If you have and the problem persists, your PP file is corrupt.

If you haven't tried it on another PC, give that a try first...that will
help you quickly figure out where the problem is (or isn't).

If you create a new PP file, does the problem persist?

Please post back with results.
