We are thinking about getting a new computer with Vista but we don't want to
have to buy a whole new Microsoft Office software right away. So my question
is, can Microsoft Office XP work with Vista? My guess is it can but I wanted
to find out for sure. Thanks!

Yes, even my Office 2000 works with Vista.

Probably better to download OpenOffice.org. It will give you all the
compatibility you probably need. At any rate, it won't cost a farthing to
try it out. OOo will read and write all the proprietary MS and WP formats
as well as 'standard' ones.

Yes -- after you install from your media you'll probably want to go to
the Office Update website and let it check for updates for you -- they
are listed and you get to choose; it's not forcefeed.

Yes, but be aware that known issues aren't going to be corrected (according
to Microsoft).
