We are currently running Office 2000 in our organization. I am wondering
what versions of office are officially supported by windows vista? I hear
that outlook 2000 has issues with vista but want to make sure.

Thanks,
James

Vista has issues you mean.

Vista came after office therefore Vista is responsible of breaking
compatibility with older products not the other way arround.

Office 2000 works fine. The fix for Outlook 2000 is:

Use Explorer to navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\System
Copy wab32.dll and wab32res.dll to C:\Windows\System32

Upon copying the above files everything will be OK.

Hi James

Office 2000 will work on Vista. The only problem that you MIGHT have is with Outlook and the wab.dll file. There is a fix for this if you do encounter it. Some do some do not.

Read the MS kb article below on Office versions supported on Vista

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932087/en-us

Also see this below

http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/vista.htm

Isn't there an issue with Outlook 2000 not saving the password when it
runs on Vista? It prompts for it every time. Or am I mistaken?

I don't use a Password. However I do think I saw it mentioned regarding
Outlook 2003. Since I use Outlook 2000 I think I would have remembered if a
comment was referring to 2000.
