Vista and EVGA video cards.

I am a gamer. Microsoft operation systems have always been preffered by
gamers. However recently when buying a new PC, I made the mistake of
purchasing windows vista. I have 2 nVidia EVGA 8800's in my vista gaming rig,
and the performance I've experienced is absolutely abysmal. In comparison, I
run about 60 frames per second faster when playing World of Warcraft on
WinXP. When playing games on vista, I constantly get blue screens and video
card crashes. There are no stable drivers for my new directX10 cards for
vista. I suggest microsoft does something with Nvidia to fix this problem
that many of my fellow gamers are having.

They are working on getting it all resolved. Do you have the newest drivers
from the NVIDIA website? They help out with some issues (fix SLI).

But, NVIDIA (among many others!) have dropped the ball on the Vista drivers.
I'm hoping they get it fixed asap. I've got my eye on a nice 8800, but until
the drivers are good, I'm waiting. Wait too long, and ATI releases their
faster model, and NVIDIA loses a sale.

There is not much Microsoft can do to make Nvidia update their
drivers.
However you as a customer of Nvidia can contact Nvidia and make your
need known to them.
Since you put $ in Nvidia pockets, your voice as well as other Nvidia
card owners may be stronger than Microsoft's.

nVidia are the culprits here. MS give people / companies plenty of notice.
My god - I've had Vista on a PC somewhere since the first release candidate.
nVidia are playing the "we don't have the cash" game - which translates as -
one of our Directors likes to sleep with Linux manuals instead of with a
woman. i.e.

NVIDIA - SORT YOURSELVES OUT!!!

I've had nightmares with the new nVidia Drivers... even my kettle has started
crashing and that's no-where near my graphics card. I've rolled back to the
at-install drivers for the moment to make sure that my whole house doesn't
reboot.

That's amazing since World of Warcraft pretty much tops out at 60 FPS
anyways, If you're going to spend that kind of jack on a system at least
know what you're getting into. I'm personally running an 8800 GTX, only one
however... are you having many issues with WoW in particular or other games
as well? Don't cry about drivers for your DX10 card, there are WHQL drivers
out and no games to take advantage of DX10... don't act like you're missing
a boat that isnt there.
