Vista 64 Ultimate boot and immediate restart

Hi

I hope someone can explain this for me.
All in all everything is fine, but today something strange happened. I
restarted my PC and after the green bars (below text: Microsoft Corporation)
had dissapeared when Vista should give the Welcome screen all was black for
a few seconds and the system restared itself again. Just out of the blue.
After that restart it booted fine, no error report or anything. What might
cause this?
The whole system is running from Vistas own drivers. I only installed
manually Intel ICH9 driver, which was suggested via 'problems and solution'
dialog (there is a direct link to the driver).

Configuration:

Intel Q6600 Core2 Quad s775
Asus P5E s.775 ATX (Intel X38 / ICH9R chipset, BIOS 0605)
Arctic cool Freezer 7 PRO s775
4 x DDR2 2GB 6400-800 Apacer
256MB Club3D X1950Pro PASSIVE
2 x 750GB Samsung SATA II 32M F1
DVDRW Liteon 20A1L LS SATA
Thermaltake Case SopranoDX VE7000BWS
PSU 750W Thermaltake W0117
9 in 1+ID Cardreader 3,5"
Linksys Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter WUSB54GC
Vista 64 Ultimate SP1

Thank you in advamce,
G

Hi,

There was no error message? There is nothing in the event viewer? It only
happened once? If the answers are no, no, and yes, then it is unlikely that
you will be able to get a definitive answer. Could've been a power glitch, a
motherboard reset, a problem with some software loading, an OS problem,
etc., etc....but there's no real way of knowing.
