Windows Vista causes router restarts?

Hello,

I have Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit installed on a computer that was built
a few months ago. Whenever i shut down the computer or start up the computer,
as soon as vista loads, my router restarts. Here are the specs on the
computer:
Evga 680i SLI mb
intel core 2 duo E6700
Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 x2, (4 GB total)
Sapphire X1950XT 512mb video card
OCZ GameXstream 700W Power supply
Thermaltake Armor Case
2 Seagate 7200.10 320GB SATA HDD
Lite-on SATA DL DVD_RW with Lightscribe
Creative X-Fi F4tality sound card
Zalman 9700NT HSF
and the Router, SMC Barricade 7004VWBR
I've had the router for several years now and have had 0 problems with my
old computers, however this one seems to not get along with it. The 680i
board does have gigabit lan, and the router is 10/100, but I've never heard
of that causing a problem before. Vista is fully patched and I have the
latest BIOS updates from the EVGA website, yet everytime when Vista gets to
the blue screen with the spinning circle, the router will reset. The same
happens when the computer is shut down. Please help.

Check for a Router firmeware update.
We had a Cisco router do this with Windows XP and it ended up being a
firmeware issue with the router.

very interesting but never heard of this problem before. I know on mine
running Vista it takes a little bit longer to get a wired connect than it
does with xp. I think that is a driver issue.

I had this really frustrating problem when I upgraded to Vista. (I have a
Belkin F5d7630-4a router.)

I found that turning off Universal Plug and Play support in the router
advanced settings solved the problem.
