Hello everyone,

Does anyone know what it means that my Windows' virutal memory is running
low. I would also like to know what I can do about this problem. Today I was
cutting and pasting some web pages and, after a while, the whole process
really bogged down.

You can adjust it,open system properties, advanced, performance, virtual memory,
change button, set to"system manage" click set 2X,close out,a restart should
be
prompted.To increase,add more ram,and/or install a 2nd hd and put page file
(virtual memory) on that drive.

It's an informational message when the Pagefile.sys needs to be enlarged.
See how much free disk space there is on your drives. Find out the current size of your page file. Find out the current settings for virtual memory.

Set your Win Explorer view options to see all files, system, & hidden files.
Pagefile.sys is a hidden file, in your sys root file (C:\ ).

Enlarging the initial size of your page file will help to reduce chance of the "low virtual memory" occurring.

The best article on this topic is "Virtual Memory in Windows XP" by Alex Nichol.

Suggest you focus on following sections:
Where is the page file
Where do I set the placing and size of the page file
How big should the page file be.

This can be a very misleading error message. The first troubleshooting
step is to make sure your computer is 100% virus/malware-free. Here are
some steps you can go through systematically to make sure:

If the machine is 100% clean and the error persists, do some
troubleshooting with the System Configuration Utility to make sure you
don't have too many programs/processes running in the background.

And finally, this article by the late Alex Nichol may be useful in
understanding Windows' virtual memory:
