Virus

Could someone help me.
My virus protection Avast & Panda have both found viruses.
Trojan horse Dropper.Exebundle.AH is found in file:
F:\TempMove\TemporaryInternetFiles\Content.IE5\OPQRSTUV\meanies1[1].exe
To remove this virus, please run AVG for Windows.
AVG was giving me problems trying to get rid of it so I deleted it and ran
Panda & Avast and they say it is in my memory and to scan boot.
It wont go away. I erase the temp files but I cant erase the folder because
windows needs it? Is there no way to put it in another drive?
Any ideas how to get rid of this before it goes to far.
Thanks Bruce

If you are running windows xp I would boot into safe mode with
networking and go to housecall.trendmicro.com and navigate to do an
online virus scan. This is pretty good about removing viruses. If
that doesnt work and you know the exact file name you are looking for
you can boot from your windows xp cd and go to thre repair console
then navigate to where the file is and delete the file from there.

I would like to say that I've been using AVAST Anti-Virus
since April of 2004, after running AVG for around a year
or so, then all of a sudden I noticed that AVG stopped
scanning my e-mail for viruses.

I found out, by searching around, that I actually needed
to go to a website and download some file, which, after
downloading, placed an extra tab on the AVG control
center screen...I think the name on the tab was Mail
Proxy, or something like that...Anyway, I was once again
able to scan e-mail for viruses after downloading
that "extra" file and after using the Mail Proxy tab to
set settings again.

I had switched over to AVAST, after I discovered AVG
wasn't virus-scanning my e-mail any longer, without any
warning that it wasn't scanning my e-mail for viruses,
but once I downloaded that extra file and got the virus-
scanning to work again, I started using both virus
programs.

I used AVG, because it scanned the Boot sector for
viruses in DOS Mode, before Windows even loaded, and I
used AVAST to scan e-mail and the entire system once my
computer was up and running.

I was trying to decide which program to use, AVG or
AVAST, so I kept using both, but once I upgraded from
WIN98SE to WIN-XP, the computer "told" me that I couldn't
run two virus programs, so I got rid of the AVG program
because since there was no "warning" that my system was
no longer being virus-scanned, I felt that the AVG
program was unreliable.

I've been using the AVAST program ever since.

However, I just noticed today that the AVAST program
isn't starting up like it should, and attempting
to "manually" start it causes me to see a pop-up message
telling me that I need a valid license key for the
program.

Again, no warning that my system wasn't being virus-
scanned, so I am going to get rid of AVAST also.

I used to really like these two programs, but I now think
that they're unreliable and that they stink or suck.

I think that I saw a message today that says that since
I'm a broadband customer of my ISP, that my ISP is
offering a "free" virus program, so I may try that, but
otherwise, if it doesn't stay "free" either, and/or is as
unreliable as the AVAST and AVG programs became, I guess
that I'll need to go without a virus program because I
can barely afford Internet access, let alone pay for anti-
virus also.

Anyway, good luck to those people using either "free"
versions, AVG or AVAST, and if I remember correctly, in
both programs there's a setting that you may need to set,
in order for either program to scan the Boot sector, but
I may be mistaken as it's been a while since I had
started using either program.

The Boot-Sector virus scan of AVG may have been
the "default" setting, but I think in the AVAST program
that you need to take a look at the settings, as I think
that I had to "tell" the AVAST program to scan the Boot
Sector.

Anyway, these two programs, not giving me any warning,
notification or indication that they weren't either
loaded or virus-scanning my system has me upset !

I'm going to be removing both anti-virus programs.

All I can say is that watch these two anti-virus
programs, both AVG and AVAST, because if they "act" the
same way on your system as they did on mine, they'll "all
of a sudden" stop "doing their job" without letting you
know in any way, shape or form that they've stopped
protecting your system !

I can only pass on to you my "experiences" with
these "free" programs, and they've chosen the wrong
person to "double-cross," or whatever term you want to
use as I "will" pass the word along and won't just let it
happen to me and won't let it go by as I fight for what I
believe in, I fight for what I believe is right and
against what I believe is wrong.

I think what a guy has to do is just go out and get
a "paid" anti-virus program, and not use these "free"
versions, but even the "paid" versions should be watched
on too as I'm getting to not trust anyone anymore.

Have a Great Day,
BernieLJ

try PCCILLIN 2003 - from www.trendmicro.com it is very good.

or open internet explorer and form tools - internet options - delete files -
delete all ofline contents - ok.

or if you have fat32 you can do it in DOS by booting from a win98 boot disk.

try ctrl - alt - del end task and end the virus task then delete it from
search files....etc
