virus emails and unknown recipients

Tim

Lately, I have been receiving emails indicating that my
email couldn't be sent either because there was a virus
or for other reasons. The email is always to addresses I
have never seen before. Is this just spam email or could
I really have a virus that is causing that problem? I
always running Norton (Corporate Edition) which updates
itself constantly. I never get any indication that I
have a virus when my hard drive is scanned; however, I
get at least 3 or 4 of these emails each day. Any ideas
on what the problem/solution could be?

its probably someone that has your address in their address book who is
infected. many of those mass mailing worms/viruses take a random address to
use as the 'from' address then send mail to everyone else in the address
book 'from' that address. that is one of the holes in smtp that makes it
easy to fake the headers on a message.
