I have two pcs networked on Windows XP. It works fine. One pc is in
livingroom and the other in bedroom. The problem is how to access the
livingroom pc from bedroom as though this lr pc is sitting in front of me.
I want to run some applications on that pc.

I tried Remote Desktop, but I got error msg saying the client could not
connect to the remote computer.Remote connections may not be enabled.

Do you have clues or hints how to enable the remote connection?

Do you have online documents about enabling connection or change desktop
permissions. thanks

Connected successfully to the remote desptop after enabling connection on
other pc. But Log on Windows wont accept my password because of account
restrict. How to fix that?

Remote desktop!

You have to setup passwords for the users you want to connect as. Then
right click My Computer, then Remote, then Select Remote Users and add the
users you want to the list. I don't think the Home Edition of XP comes with
Terminal Services though.

I cannot right click my Computer then Remote, select Remote users
I have to go to Control Panel, then System, then Remote, and check Remote
Desktop, select Remote users, then do I have to open USER accounts? because
alan is already there in the USER list. I did not give any password probably
because I am the administrator on that pc, too.

When I run Remote Desktop from bedroom, the Logon to windows said my
username and password is not recognized.

You need a password for the account that you're trying to connect as.
Terminal Server won't let you use a password-less account.

Are you using the account credentials for the remote computer?

All fixed as I create my username and password on remote pc. Then it
connects successfully. Thank you.
