Movies from basement PC to 2nd floor bedroom HDTV?

I backup movies I own onto my PC. Problem is, the PC is in the
(finished) basement. HDTV is in the bedroom.

Do i burn the movies to CD? Or do I build some kind of smaller PC to
go in the bedroom?

I don't want another tower in the bedroom, and a monitor and all that.
I just need like... a multimedia center or something.

Any ideas?

"Media Center PCs" have been put together for this purpose. Some DVRs also have
capability to interface with PCs.

The biggest problem is bandwidth if you go wireless. Wireless-G is NOT adequate
for streaming movies over a LAN, but a dedicated Wireless-A is supposed to be.
I assume Wireless-N would also be adequate, since it has higher theoretical
bandwidth than -A. If you're going wireless, I would recommend a dual-band -N
setup so you can reserve 1 band for the movies.

Some TVs are starting to appear with
media hubs built into them...but are
very pricey right now and only in the
bigger TV sizes

Nice. Is anyone using any of these devices, if you are how is the
picture? Is the PC - Media router - HDTV as good as HD?
