Virtual Memory low

P

Paul Lockhart

I am getting an error message that says that virtual
memory is low. My machine has 256 MB of RAM and there is
over 2 GB of disk space available. Yet, I am getting
virtual memory low. I get this message even when I am
only running the OS and nothing else.

Any suggestions,

Paul Lockhart

The virtual memory is set to 768 MB. That seems pretty
resonable to me. Is that not enough?

Is that the minimum, maximum, or both? Nobody can tell you
whether it's enough, because it depends on what apps you run. For
most people it's too much for a minimum, and the maximum should
be higher.
