Virtual memory low

Since yesterday evening I have been unable to run aol
instant messenger, Microsoft word, and media player
without my computer slowing down and a "virtual memory is
low" warning. How do I increase my virtual memory and
rectify this situation?

you need to add some more memory to your computer. or

you can try out one of those sofeware that cliams to be
able to free some memory form your system, I myself
havn't try any and don't know if it really works.

On the contrary - they will almost certainly make things worse. They
are trying to make things 'look' nicer but actually push stuff into page
file that would otherwise just have been dropped, and often result in a
run-away pagefile and VM slow all the sooner. See Problems section at

Add more mem first, then go to analogx.com and download
maxmem. If keeps freeing mem as you go, and can L. click
aggressively clean it. 512 megs. is min for good
performance
