viewing video from dig camera

is there a way to view video from camcorder withou the
camera's software installed. I've lost the software!
 
Connect the digital camcorder with a firewire cable to the PC and turn it on
in VCR mode. Capture the video with MovieMaker... or your preference of
video editing software... edit data and view with Windows Media Player or
you favorite viewer.
