Hi! I'm trying to use my laptop and a Sony camcorder, connected
together with a firewire cable, to take snapshots. They work fine
together, except the screen shots are only 360x240 pixels.

I've found 2 ways of accessing the video, thru My Computer, or any
Windows application, by selecting Insert Picture through Scanner or
Camera.

Is the resolution a limitation of the video camera, or the Windows
screen capture program? Or is there another way to do this? The
camera is a Sony DCR-TRV330.

Thanks much!

Sharon, here's a clip out of your manual. It's a .pdf file so I had to
do a screen capture to show it.
Here's the pdf file url, it's on page 92:

Hi Treeman, thanks. That's the specs for the memory stick, but not
the video output capture. When I look at the size of the pictures on
the memory stick, they are 640x480.

I got my answer from a co-worker today. My camcorder is a HI8, not
The Mini-DV. It only outputs video at that size. The Mini-DV
outuputs 720x480. That's what he told me; I cant't find any thing
that tells me this, but. I guess I'm going to have to find someone
with a Mini-DV camera to make the captures bigger.
