Viewing System Files on NTFS Drive

Guest

I recently and for the first time formatted one of my drives to NTFS. The
other drive is still Fat32. I notice that I cannot view System or hidden
files any longer. If I click on one, ( I have them enabled in properties) it
says "nOT aCCESSIBLE". Are there any permissions that must be met to have
access to these files under NTFS. I am the only user on the computer. Thank
you

On the Windows Explorer toolbar, click on Tools, Folder Options and the View
tab. Mark the Show Hidden Files box and unmark the Do Not Show... and Hide
Extensions boxes.

I have done this, and can see the files on the NTFS volume, however when I
click the files it says "not accessible"

specifically "System Volume INformation"- I have four drives and on all the
other I can see the folders in "System Volume INformation", however on the
newly formatted NTFS drive, which only has a few files since I just
formatted, that one particular file says "not Accessible". I don't want to
do anything with it, but I am not use to NTFS and want full access to all
files and was surprised when it said Not Accessible. Thank you

You can seize ownership of such folders (click Start / Help,
then look for "Ownership") although you won't see anything
useful in there.

I agree, what files do you need to view? Hidden files are typically those
that are to do with the operating system and are hidden for a very good
reason.
