Viewing message header

I want to view the actual sender's email address prior to opening the
message.

In OEx I always use the message properties to view the header if the email
is suspect. I'm using IMAP folders for one of my email accounts in Outlook,
and I've managed to download the headers, but the helps says I've got to
open the mail in order to view the header.

Surely it's as dangeous in Outlook as in OEx to open a suspect email?

Can I view the header in Outlook without opening the email?

It's not dangerous to use the Reading Pane.
