Viewing hard disks partitions

I cant access my old partitions from any new partitions, a message appears.
"The disk in drive E is not formatted, do you want to format it now?"

I can use my partitions, but not view them from others.

Can you clarify this please? I don't understand that last statement at all,
since you don't use or view partitions "from" anyplace. You just use or view
them, period.

Please explain exactly what you do when you use them, and exactly what you
do when you can't view them.
