Viewing Annual Events in Appointments

How can I get annual events (birthdays and anniversaries) to appear in the Appointment section of the To Do bar? Thank you, I am not able to find this information..

You can't, other than by making them hourly appointments, no longer than
23:59 hours long

Then is it possible to highlight the date on the calendar? Make it bold so you know there is an event there. I don't always check the calendar.
