View Workgroup Computers

I'm using XP with SP2. I have configured several Notebook computers with the
same workgroup, set permissions, and shared folders on the several computers
in a peer network environment.

In Network Places I can see all the computers and can connect to the shared
folders for all but one of the computers. I checked and re-checked the
configurations-firewall settings-but still cannot get pass the My Network
Places error message "Workgroup name is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this
server to find out if you have access permissions. The list of servers for
this workgroup is not currently available". Of course I rechecked the
Network ID Wizard to make sure that the network is without a domain and
server.

What is the possible problem and how do I fix it?

Your sharing settings on that machine are not enough to include the
'non-local' members of the network. You have probably turned Off 'Simple File
Sharing'. This would require explicitly including the non-local ID in
Permissions, or creating an identical ID/Pass on both machines.
