First, clear the IE cache. IE> Tools> Internet Options> General> Delete
files (and delete offline content.) It's often recommended that the TIF
folder be kept at about 50 MB (Settings.) Bigger isn't necessarily better.
If you have a shortcut to Notepad.exe on the desktop, rename it.
I have been seing this behavior as well for quite a while, but none of the suggestions that I see here, and there are many, does the trick. I have to reboot to make it work again. So, that means that Notepad _is_ installed, that it is _not_ a full cache (emptying the cache alone does not help) and I also don't have notepad.exe on my desktop
Any other ideas?
Actually, I have to take that back. Clearing the cache did fix the problem, but not until I refreshed the page. When I just tried to view source again, it still did not work.
